The CA/Browser (CAB) Forum is a voluntary organization of leading certification authorities (CAs) and vendors of Internet browser software and other applications. CAB has modify the principle of renew of all SSL certificates from 5 years to 4 years, it means that any certificate purchase after 13th June, 2012 will be given validity of only 4 years and not for 5 or 6 years. This rule will be applied to every Certificate authority from 1st July, 2012.
DigiCert, GeoTrust, Thawte & RapidSSL have declared that 5 year SSL certificates will no longer be open for purchase after June, 2012 in SSL Industry. Any user wants to renew his SSL certificate for 5 years than he has to apply before 13th June, 2012. This rule will apply also on SAN certificate and wildcard certificate. So user who wants to renew certificate before June, 2012 may get awesome discount with longer availability of certificate.
