- In USA it is approx. $206.8 million and in Europe €565 million were spent on holiday season.
- Due to online fraud, USA made lose of $8933510 while UK $3252912 and Germany suffers $5950725 respectively.
- Out of 532 websites there is a one website found vulnerable according to Symantec Study. Out of the websites there are 53% website have exploitable vulnerabilities and 24% websites have critical vulnerabilities.
- Online scammers target at personal information, driving license information, social security number, and banking details.

When you purchase any stuff over the internet you should observe that website is protected with 256-bit SSL encryption. HTTPS shows that website is secured with SSL (secure socket layer) security and your transactions will be encrypted so that attackers could not intercept it. There should be SSL padlock on website that means the site is secure for online payment.
Before selecting any product, check customer’s review to verify product’s reliability. If you find green address bar on website, it seems the website has the highest authentication and shoppers would be secured over such website. However, in the absence of green bar shopper must lookout for HTTPS and padlock.
